Issue Type: ENHANCEMENT
Summary: Include "bookmarks" as a menu item of "view", in order
to reveal them when needed
Classification: Application
Product: Word processor
Version: OOo 3.2.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows Vista
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3
Component: ui
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]

Every time that my bookmarks window gets misplaced and I want to open it again,
I cannot remember how to find them. (It only happens about once every two or
three months perhaps, but I do have a bad memory when it comes time to remember
what I did to unconver the bookmarks, the previous time it happened to me). My
"styles" are indeed open in the side window, but I cannot figure out how to
open the bottom half of that window, where the "bookmarks" usually appear.
After a long time searching through the different menu items, I finally resort
to the "help" screen for answers. I discover there that the only way to get the
bookmarks back open is to click on the page number at the bottom left corner of
the screen, in the status bar. In fact, the word "bookmarks" does not even
appear there, so this solution is EXTREMELY well hidden, if hiding it was the
goal. I would go so far as to say that this was the spot where I would be LEAST
likely to look, as a new user of OpenOffice.
My suggestion, then is simply this: include a menu item under "view" that would
say "bookmarks" (the most likely place for one to look), and the problem will
be solved for anyone else like me, who wants to reveal the bookmarks, without
having to open the "help" screen, or without having to bother the kind
volunteers at OpenOffice.org.
