Good point [~rajesh.balamohan] Though I am guessing the issue of the race
condition pre-existed TEZ-2943 since we have never handled that race condition
earlier. If fact, this is not a corner case since in theory vmEvents can be
sent by any arbitrary vertex and can come at any time.
