I was thinking of a simple addition like a status field/tag on the deprecated
REST calls, an example for the queues endpoint it would look like this in md
format:

**Status** : Deprecated since v0.12.0, replaced by [Partition
Queues](#partition-queues){code}
and as a rendered value:
*Status* : Deprecated since v0.12.0, replaced by [Queue
Applications|#queue-applications]
We could even add: just the since part for the new APIs we added or not add it
at all.
