Something else worth mentioning. The non-IE browsers seem to be much more forgiving if exceptions are encountered during the construction of the pdf. The pdf is still displayed in the browser window. The IE (v.5 & 6) browser on the other hand refuses to display anything if those same exceptions are encountered. In my case, a NullPointerException was thrown in my code. Mozilla still displayed the pdf, whereas IE would not, until I tracked down and fixed the problem.
