I have been struggling with this same problem and it
seems to me (in my version of IE at least) that the
problem comes in if you access the session from within
the servlet.

My servlet is a little different because I'm streaming
the dynamically generated pdf as a download file
rather than for inline embedding, i.e.

response.setHeader ("Content-Disposition",
"attachment; filename="+downloadfilename+"\"");

If I call the sevlet passing parameters on the
request, it works fine. If I pass the same parameters
via a session object I get the infamous blank white
inline page.

Have others seen this pattern? Is it a clue, or just
another version-specific red herring?

I really don't want the parameters appearing on the
url, for security reasons. So if anyone has any
suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.
