That is more or less what I need. Oc� printers allow to print pdf files directly. To be able to adjust processing instructions (simplex,duplex,paper tray,etc.) they allow to insert these processing instructions within the pdf files inside such a document update block.
Printers that support native PDF processing still do so today (except with latest version of Adobe PS) by conversion to PS and then printing PS. You can't include that PS in the way you are imagining. Where did you get the impression that it would? What printer are you working with, since each printer uses different codes?
