I dont want to include Postscript. Oc Printers in general hide the processing instructions in comments that are allowed in the datastream if there are no "native" processing instructions available for the printer data stream specification that can be used for the purpose. So printing in Postscript allows to pass processing instructions along inside postscript comments, printing in PCL allows to pass processing instructions inside of PCL comments and printing PDF allows to pass processing instructions inside of a special tag inside of an update block. So trust me, you can send a plain pdf file with a special document update block to many oce printers via lpr or whatever and they can read out the instructions out of the pdf file for printing copies, using special paper trays or whatever without sending anything in the lpr controlfile. > imagining. DPS200,DPS400, Varioprint 2090,etc. Best regards, Carsten ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ iText-questions mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/itext-questions
