So printing in Postscript allows to pass processing instructions along inside postscript comments, printing in PCL allows to pass processing instructions inside of PCL comments and printing PDF allows to pass processing instructions inside of a special tag inside of an update block.
But by doing that, it is no longer a valid PDF - and as such, can't be stored and archived along with the actual printing codes/instructions.
