Hi, i've got a probleme with merging PDF files and embedded fonts. At the beginning
i've got 2 PDF files :
- a naked PDF file that contains lot of pages -> the source file
- a simple page PDF file that contains dynamic and static fields, logo images etc...
->  the layer file

The mecanism consists of modifying the PDF layer file filling static and dynamics
fields (page number for
exemple) and merge it on each pages on the source file. This mecanism works fine but i
ve a big probleme with
the final PDF file size.

For example :
- base PDF file (17 pages) : 84 KB
- layer PDF file (1 page with filled and flattended fields) : 174 KB
Final file size : 2.4 MB

Acrobat audit space usage tool say that the fonts use :
3.7 % space in the base PDF file
77% space of the layer PDF file (PDF file used for layer contains embedded font)
84.5% (!!!!!) space of the final file (so about 2MB of the 2.4MB)

The problem is that i can't control the layer file and it contains embedded fonts. To
merge the layer in the base file i
use a system of stamper, imported file and addtemplate. It think that each time i
merge the layer file, the fonts are
emebedded again even if they already exist in the final file.

So, how can i do to merge the layer file without including the embedded fonts ? Is it
possible ? Is it possible to
modify an existing PDF file and remove the embedded fonts ? How can i share the fonts
in the final document
(embed the fonts only once) ?

Thanks.
