I want to do some experiments with PS Xobjects in itext. I added a PdfPSXObject and added "PS" to PdfName. It works to do
writer.addToBody(new PdfPSXObject("<</MediaPosition 1>> setpagedevice"));at least Acrobat does not care that the resulting PDF file contains a Poscript Xobject. However saving this file in postscript format within Acrobat removes this xobject. I guess Acrobat detects that this indirect object is referenced nowhere. To be able to control the place where the Postscript Xobject later sits in the PDF file (connected to the Page) I would think I should implement the Element interface like Annotation does and then have something like
document.add(new PostscriptCode("<</MediaPosition 1>> setpagedevice"));Do you think this is the right way? Does anybody have experinces with machines that are able to handle Postscript Xobjects?
Best regards,
Carsten
