I just updated and see the same thing. Somehow /boot/vmlinuz no longer
exist when it needs to be a link to the kernel you wish to boot.
please file a bug on the kernel package since the update script must
have a bug.

it could have been. I changed it to security=none before I updated. I
don't recall it being there in the extlinux menu when I rebooted. You
may be right. I'm on a new image now and running into other issues,
but at least it mostly boots.
Rusty, even if it's not a kernel update issue, does that mean that
there is still no risk to having any zypper update b0rk your system?

Could it be the security plugin is still installed on your image?

Actually... i have seen this periodically so i doubt a new change
in the kernel landed that broke this, but more like a bug that
has been around a while that only shows up periodically.

Just zypper updated my image from yesterday (3/26) and a new
kernel appeared. Rebooted and I'm stuck watching "starting
Tizen" flash on the screen.
It seems like we need a Devel area in gerrit/OBS to push changes
like this. Otherwise a zypper update has a higher risk in
ruining my car.
