It may be hard for folks working on tizen.org to answer questions about code
that is not on tizen.org. Perhaps the AGL mail list would have folks more
familiar with this code.

Joel

Brian, Geoffroy - thanks a lot - this will help me to move the first point.
Regarding my second point I was trying to figure out if it's possible to
modify/extend the AGL demonstrator application.
this one:
http://automotive.linuxfoundation.org/sites/automotive.linuxfoundation.org/files/agl-demo-home-small.png
I already launched it in VM Workstation and VM Player and it looks like its
design does or will allow adding additional subapplications to it - please
correct me if I'm wrong.
Is the code for this demonstrator available anywhere?
How should I start with the development (tool chain, sdk)?
Cheers,
Jacek

Just in case you have not seen it yet... here is a wiki page for running Tizen
IVI in a VM: https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI/IVI_3.0_VMware
For WebApps... take a look here specifically:

Hi Jacek,

To my knowledge IVI currently only supports 2.1 web apps, not 2.2. And I would
think a 2.1 web app would run fine in a VM if you get the image working in a
VM. I don't use VM's so I can't say, sorry.

I'm not exactly clear on what you are trying to accomplish in 2.). The web app
can be installed on Tizen IVI from the console using wrt-installer, and can be
launched using wrt-launcher. This can be done from a script if you like.
However if what you are looking for is a desktop icon to launch with, that's
not possible just yet. There is currently no menu screen, just a desktop.

Hope that helps get you started.

-Brian

Subject: Tizen web app for tizen ivi

Hey guys,
this is my first post here.
I've started playing with Tizen more than a month ago and wrote this blog post
http://blog.carmesh.eu/2013/07/16/tizen-ivi-a-breakthrough-in-on-board-units/
currently I'm trying to figure out if it's possible and how to:
1. Deploy a webapp developed under Tizen SDK 2.2 (.apk) in Tizen IVI running in
VM Player
2. Add application to IVI so it can be reached and used from dashboard
application (e.g. build my own navigation app).
I guess the latter will be harder.

Thanks for your help,
Regards,
Jacek
