It looks like it's an issue with the Thinkpad T420 bios/firmware. Most of the 
posts that I could find on the topic involved manually tweaking the 
partitioning of your disk to make it work. Here is an example of such 
post/wiki:

Already tried set the 'boot" flag, as my previous post,  but the parted tool i 
used do not show"legacy_boot" flag.

Could you please still try was suggested here. Set the 'boot' flag, in
addition to 'legacy_boot', and check if it helps.
