Odroid was picked up for Common because it's shares the same SoC that the Samsung product which are being launched now. It's a hacker board for which Samsung can maintain the Kernel in line with Tizen requirements (e.g. Smacks)

What about projects like > TOMOYO: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOMOYO_Linux How would one go > about removing SMACK in favor of TOMOYO and would it still be "Tizen"? Tizen Common regroups a bit more than 700 packages (includes the mandatory Common, Optional shared and Dev/Test tools). The list of maintainers is fairly long. My team in Vannes is in charge of its integration and release. Smack is a key component in Tizen as Tizen is a secured embedded distro and the base back of its implementation is Smack. https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/Security/Overview > > > Using emulation is a a solution to break the dependence toward HW, it might be easier to use IA HW. The Minnowboard Max is coming now and will provide a low cost option for Hacker with a connectivity which can be extended to bespoke HW (I2C, SPI, I2S S audio, UART and GPIO). http://www.minnowboard.org/meet-minnowboard-max/ Dominig -- Dominig ar Foll Senior Software Architect Intel Open Source Technology Centre
