This seems reasonable. I note though that the merge window is closed for 3.15, so 3.10 is likely a little bit behind. I wonder what the criteria are for choosing a kernel?
Kernel selection is a mix between Tizen requirement (e.g. Smack, Systemd, ...) and SoC support. In the case of the Odroid, Samsung has taken the commitment to provide a kernel will provides Tizen requirement and HW acceleration.

Its pretty awesome you're doing this. And I hope to be able to get a board and do some testing too. I don't mean to sound negative, but how do we expect to bring in other silicon vendors? Exynos is hardly representative of the automotive industry.
Odroid has been selected for Tizen Common which is not dedicated to IVI bacause it's a SoC which is close to those used in Phone and Wearable and we had a maintainer candidate for the maintenance of the HW adaptation layer (Samsung).

For IVI, Renesas has accepted to lead the initial provision of an ARM image during the the last TDC. Let them take a few week to enable their own SoC in Tizen IVI. I know that they are working on it.
The current incumbents are companies like Freescale, nvidia, TI, Renesas, and STMicro. Don't you think it better to adopt the process that these companies, along with GENIVI, uses? That is to say use Open Embedded -- Yocto to create recipes for Tizen that can be used against _any_ silicon vendor recipe?
We believe that both approach have their own merit. The provision of a reduced list of reference platforms allow us to activate automatic test for each code submission on each reference platform enabling an early discovery of arch related issue without requiring for each developer to own a large set of HW.

But to enable a large range of HW, we bleleive that Genivi model has its merrit and we have published our work to enable building Tizen with Yocto tools last month and demonstrated our work at TDC.
The video of the demo should be soon be published at Tizen expert

The technical info on the project can be followed on Tizen Wiki.

The creation of a Tizen meta for Tizen is work in progress. We have already Tizen Common base working (challenge was to activate all the Tizen security framework). We are now working on Crosswalk enabling. Next phase will be IVI. If your want to help us to move quicker, please join the team (developers on the public Tizen Dev list).
