I spoke too soon - after the first reboot, the card fails again. Same for a new built 2.5.16.18 kernel too.
Can anyone help? Should I compile a kernel with i2c debugging and post some output? I had to recompile the kernel. Also I am using a clean 2.6.16.16 kernel not the FC5 kernel. Disabling -funit-at-a-time when building the kernel helps.
