OK, here's what I noticed from sampling the recordings. First, the couple of seconds of each recording are heavily pixelated. It's like part of the stream got dropped until everthing got up to speed. Second, there is closed captioning present, but it appears to be somewhat garbled. MythTV dislays some of the text but often misses characters or even whole words. Could the VIM_RSTs be an indication the driver is dropping/missing some of the VBI data?
