Well, I rolled back the the 2.6.21 kernel again today.  My wife is 
recording a marathon of bad reality TV ( name excluded to protect her 
dignity ).  It had already caused multiple resets of the 3ware card.

I will keep my eye on the open ticket as well as trying the kernel in 
testing ( as soon as the marathon is done )
