I plan on working the MythTV problem for myself as time permits this weekend. Something in the MPEGRecorder class in mpegrecorder.cpp probably needs to be fixed. I doubt lengthening the select timeout will work - the one that's there is already pretty long. My plan is to turn on debug flags for ivtv and cx18 modules and do a differential comparison, to figure out where MythTV's MPEGRecorder class may be failing to set up the cx18 properly. If I can find and fix the problem, I'll post a MythTV patch here. > I did try a dd from the /dev/video0 device to a file for a few minutes > and then mplayer that file and there were no timeouts. mplayer > directly > against /dev/video0 would eventually display rubbish and the sound is > way out of synch. Hmm. My computer sometimes, but rarely, does that with mplayer and ivtv after a brief period of high cpu load during playback. I have never encountered it with ivtv and MythTV - go figure. I have a dual-core processor so maybe that makes a difference with mplayer - I don't know. -Andy _______________________________________________ ivtv-devel mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-devel
