Hi Richard -

I'm not expert, but it looks like you aren't loading the correct msp3400 driver (or you neglected to provide the log for that part). I get something like this in my log:

Jan 23 03:14:42 localhost kernel: msp34xx: ivtv version
Jan 23 03:14:42 localhost kernel: msp34xx: init: chip=MSP3435G-B6, has NICAM support, simple (D) mode, simpler (G) no-thread mode
Jan 23 03:14:42 localhost kernel: msp34xx: $Id$ compiled on: Jan 14 2005 19:51:51

I'd expect the first line to be the key....

Thanks for the feedback.

I actually do get that exact output, but it comes after the IVTV portion of the log. Should I expect that to come inside the IVTV portion of the log?

From my machine:
msp34xx: ivtv version
msp34xx: init: chip=MSP3448W-A2, has NICAM support, simple (D) mode, simpler (G) no-thread mode
msp34xx: $Id$ compiled on: Jan 23 2005 17:38:19

Thanks,
/-Will
