Thought this might be helpful if anyone else runs into this problem. See: http://ivtv.writeme.ch/tiki-view_faq.php?faqId=1#q33
I tried the noapic, that did nothing. I also tried a PCI ata controller (SIIG Ultraata 133), which (sorta) resolved the random deadlock dma stuff. The system is no longer "unstable" while watching TV or playing recorded shows, but the program guide doesn't work at all, well, it works, but while loading and moving around, the system gets REALLY slow and unwatchable. Obviously the framebuffer overlay portion of ivtv requires/causes tons of bus traffic... Now that the hard drive controller is on the same bus as the PVR-350...well, you can imagine what it does to the bus. Anyway... I guess I'm going to upgrade the mobo/cpu/ram/etc. Thanks for everyone's help, -Kenneth ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
