Hi, Using my old PVR-250 under 0.3.3e with mythtv, after upgrading the kernel to 2.6.11.
I'm getting messages in dmesg: rtc: lost some interrupts at 1024Hz. coinciding with video/audio stutters when watching live tv/recording. Any ideas why? The kernel is compiled with preempt and HPET, cpu is Duron 1GHz. CONFIG_PREEMPT=y CONFIG_PREEMPT_BKL=y CONFIG_DEBUG_PREEMPT=y CONFIG_HPET_TIMER=y CONFIG_HPET_EMULATE_RTC=y # CONFIG_HPET is not set Any ideas what is causing the interrupt drops? System load is also very high when watching tv. Once I get this working I'll try putting my PVR-500mce in the system as well. top - 22:44:35 up 15 min, 3 users, load average: 2.48, 2.68, 1.66 Tasks: 93 total, 1 running, 92 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 38.1% us, 5.7% sy, 0.0% ni, 28.1% id, 27.1% wa, 0.0% hi, 1.0% si Mem: 256204k total, 252540k used, 3664k free, 696k buffers Swap: 979956k total, 4k used, 979952k free, 124804k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 3423 mythtv 15 0 137m 47m 26m S 24.6 19.1 2:41.55 mythfrontend 2862 root 6 -10 67348 29m 13m S 3.7 11.6 0:26.22 XFree86 3332 mythtv 15 0 126m 13m 9316 S 2.3 5.6 0:16.97 mythbackend 2516 root 15 0 0 0 0 S 1.0 0.0 0:06.69 lirc_dev vmstat 1 procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- --system-- ----cpu---- r b swpd free buff cache si so bi bo in cs us sy id wa 7 1 4 4120 372 124564 0 0 138 575 2094 2958 25 7 46 23 0 0 4 3620 380 125124 0 0 176 1432 1633 1887 49 13 15 24 0 1 4 3796 364 124884 0 0 0 0 2231 4004 25 5 32 37 2 0 4 4492 360 124136 0 0 8 1608 1702 2101 34 10 0 56 ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== ivtv: version 0.3.3 (x) loading ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.11 preempt K7 gcc-3.3 ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info ivtv: between the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines when ivtv: mailing the ivtv-devel mailinglist. ivtv: Autodetected WinTV PVR 250 card ivtv: Found an iTVC15 based chip ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:0c.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16 ivtv: Unreasonably low latency timer, setting to 64 (was 32) ivtv: VIA PCI device: 0x3099 vendor: 0x1106 tuner: chip found at addr 0xc2 i2c-bus ivtv i2c driver #0 ivtv: i2c attach [client=(tuner unset),ok] msp34xx: ivtv version msp34xx: init: chip=MSP3415G-B8, has NICAM support, simple (D) mode, simpler (G) no-thread mode msp34xx: $Id$ compiled on: Apr 30 2005 19:22:07 ivtv: i2c attach [client=MSP3415G-B8,ok] saa7115: starting probe for adapter ivtv i2c driver #0 (0x10005) saa7115: detecting saa7115 client on address 0x42 saa7115: writing init values ivtv: i2c attach [client=saa7115[50],ok] saa7115: status: (1E) 0x00, (1F) 0xc0 tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 48014, rev = G748, serial# = 6288948 tveeprom: tuner = LG TP18PSB11D (idx = 48, type = 29) tveeprom: tuner fmt = PAL(B/G) (eeprom = 0x04, v4l2 = 0x00000007) tveeprom: audio_processor = MSP3415 (type = 6) ivtv: i2c attach [client=tveeprom[50],ok] ivtv: Tuner Type 29, Tuner formats 0x00000007, Radio: yes, Model 0x009d7518, Revision 0x00000004 ivtv: PAL tuner detected ivtv: Radio detected ivtv: Encoder revision: 0x02040011 ivtv: Decoder revision: 0x02020023 ivtv: Configuring WinTV PVR 250 card with 5 streams ivtv: Registered v4l2 device, streamtype 0 minor 0 ivtv: Create DMA stream 0 using 1024 16384 byte buffers 0 kbytes total ivtv: Allocate DMA stream 0 using 1024 16384 byte buffers 16777216 kbytes total ivtv: Registered v4l2 device, streamtype 1 minor 32 ivtv: Create DMA stream 1 ivtv: Allocate DMA stream 1 ivtv: Registered v4l2 device, streamtype 2 minor 224 ivtv: Create DMA stream 2 using 160 52224 byte buffers 0 kbytes total ivtv: Allocate DMA stream 2 using 160 52224 byte buffers 8388608 kbytes total ivtv: Registered v4l2 device, streamtype 3 minor 24 ivtv: Create DMA stream 3 using 455 4608 byte buffers 0 kbytes total ivtv: Allocate DMA stream 3 using 455 4608 byte buffers 2097152 kbytes total ivtv: Registered v4l2 device, streamtype 4 minor 64 ivtv: Create stream 4 ivtv: Allocate stream 4 ivtv: Setting Tuner 29 tuner: type set to 29 (LG PAL_BG (TPI8PSB11D)) by ivtv i2c driver #0 saa7115: decoder set input (4) saa7115: now setting Composite input ivtv: Setting audio matrix to input 3, output 1 ivtv: Switching standard to PAL. saa7115: decoder set norm PAL saa7115: set audio: 0x01 ivtv: Initialized WinTV PVR 250, card #0 ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ==================== ivtv: ivtv_enc_thread: pid = 2410, itv = 0xd0aa6c20 saa7115: decoder set size lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61 lirc_i2c: no version for "lirc_unregister_plugin" found: kernel tainted. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games.
