This is sort of maddening... I have gone back to the 0.2.0-rc3j and reset my /etc/modules.d/ivtv to be as follows (using defaults):
alias char-major-81 videodev alias char-major-81-0 ivtv alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c add above ivtv lirc_dev lirc_i2c After reinstalling everything I did the following (from http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Setup_MythTV): modprobe ivtv ivtvctl -u 0x3000 ivtvctl -p 4 ivtvctl -f width=720,height=480 ivtvctl -v input=3,output=1 cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg I started X and played the test.mpg - and it showed real video of C-SPAN.. not quite my cup of tea, but it worked.. however, when I started Myth, any time I tried to tune to a different channel, nothing changed. It was as if C-SPAN was on every channel. Next, I powered down my box, started it back up, and once I logged in I ran the same commands as above starting with the 'modprobe ivtv' (its not autoloading the module yet). This time, the video was all snow and myth showed nothing but snow as well. below is my current dmesg when I load the driver, but when using the tuner I get the following out of dmesg (not sure if this is an error or not). Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks in advance for your help. ivtv: Timeout waiting for data! Try setting ivtv_std=1 or remove it completely and see if that helps. Regards, Petter ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games.
