Actually I have read the whole FAQ and kernel panic or hard lockups are
not mentioned. Disabling noapic is mentioned for 2.4.x kernels, but I
have 2.6.x kernel. Nothing about PREEMPT and REGPARM. Could you tell me

I ve had this problem at the start and that 's what solve it...
don't remember where i get the info, it was on janury that i have the problem...
i ve removed 4STACKS too...
you ll have just to try :)
I use 4kstacks AND preempt on a dual HT Xeon machine. No problems. This
was fixed some time ago, if I remember correctly.
