I use 4kstacks AND preempt on a dual HT Xeon machine. No problems. This was fixed some time ago, if I remember correctly.
Should I give up on ivtv 0.3.6w and maybe use 0.3.3k as advertised on ivtv web?
Sorry if it sounds newbie-like. I am quite confident with Linux. I am just trying to get the basic bearings and there are so many directions... I have no idea which path to take when faced with a hard lockup.
