This looks wrong; what do "lspci" and "lspci -n" say about the card? > tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 23559, rev = D291, serial# = 7726958 > tveeprom: tuner = Philips FQ1216AME MK4 (idx = 91, type = 56) MK4 hmm, Anyone got a datasheet? I realise this might be better discussed on the v4l list, but I don't want to take it over there just yet: The tuner frequency control (tuner-simple or 4-bytes style) in tuner.c does not send enough bytes! Reading the FM1216ME_MK3/FQ1216ME_MK3 datasheets, I think there should be 6, not 4, which include important-sounding settings like charge-pump fast/slow and PLL tuning on/off. If the Philips MK4 is similar enough to the MK3s, I'd conclude the tuner is being barely, not fully configured, which might lead to the sound dropouts I (and others) have been hearing.
