I was actually going to suggest this change, so I'm personally happy to see
it happen.

I noticed that after making this change, my captures went from an average of
1% CPU usage (except when I was running into file system problems, see my
other posts over the past 2 days for more info) to 0%. 

Not that the 1% CPU usage was a problem or anything, but that was a nice
little side effect and probably makes a bigger difference on less powerful
machines.

I was also having a problem with up to 40 second delays before a capture
would actually begin, and this change fixed that.

Again, I'd like to thank everyone who helped me out here. You guys are
terrific.
