There is both a 32 bit binary and the source code available here.

This reduces the CPU usage of the xdriver quite considerably. The smaller the image being rendered the greater the gain will be though it does seem to reduce the cpu usage by about 50% even for full screen PAL.

Thanks again to Ian for doing most of this work that I hadn’t found time to do.

Any problems let me know.

John

I tried the binary - and I got this errors in Xorg.0.log:

Required symbol shadowAdd from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o is unresolved! Required symbol shadowSetup from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o is unresolved! Required symbol fbPictureInit from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o is unresolved! Required symbol fbScreenInit from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o is unresolved! Required symbol shadowAlloc from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o is unresolved!

Fatal server error:
Some required symbols were unresolved

any simple remedy for this?

ivtv: version 0.3.9 (development svn snapshot revision 2681)
ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.13 K7 gcc-4.0

Regards

Sigurd
