Hi, In order to debug random freezeups of mythtv I would like to get a serial console to work. After much surfing and scratching of the head I have come to you guys hoping for some pointers.
I have the following line in my lilo.conf file: append="apm=power-off nomce acpi=off noapic console=tty0 console=ttyS0,9600n8" and also ran 'lilo'. In the /etc/inittab I uncommented the line starting with T0 to get a getty process. This does not seems to happen. If I startup the getty by hand then I get login prompt on the serial terminal. I get the boot message from lilo on my serial terminal but then all the boot messages go on the TV-out as useall and no serial terminal messages appear. Any suggestion ?
