Hi Hans,
Sorry for my late answer, but I had an hard week end :) I'm still with
svn version 2693, but I'll try the latest version and send you my report
as soon as possible.
I have a pvr150.
For now (2693) :

Well, it looks like the major sound problems have been resolved. This means
that it is time to evaluate what still has to be done before 0.3.9 can be
released. Below is a list of known problems and what their status is. Please
check this and notify me if I've missed one.
1) No sound on PVR150. Caused by incorrect settings of the tda9887 for the LG
S001D tuner. May also happen for other FM1216ME MK3-like tuners. Fixed.
This is ok for me.
2) No sound on the second PVR500 tuner. Caused by incorrect cx25840
initialization. Copied the sequence from the Hauppauge driver I2C log. Fixed.
3) Sound is slow to kick in. Possibly fixed in the latest driver. If you had
this problem, please check with the latest svn driver to see if it is really
fixed.
4) After changing a channel it took a few seconds before the picture
stabilized. I've seen this myself but I cannot reproduce it anymore with the
latest snv driver. Does anyone still have this problem?
5) The radio quality is better if the kernel tuner module is used. Is this
still true with the latest ivtv driver? Please check!
6) No sound on certain channels. Does this still happen? If so, please report
the tuner type reported by tveeprom and which channel frequencies have no
sound. I need the frequencies, not channel numbers. Load the tuner module
with 'debug=1' if you want to see the selected frequency. It could be wrong
bandwidth boundary values for a specific tuner, leaving a hole in the
available frequencies.
Yep. I have this problem with 2693. But I'll tell you if I still have
this problem with the latest svn version.
7) Problems with the hue, brightness and contrast controls (saa7115). Strange
values seem to be filled in, possibly also the cause of a messed up video.
Waiting for the answer of the questions I asked Jan Ophey.
8) Skips in the recording. Fairly rare, but I've seen them too. Seems to be
going wrong since somewhere between 0.3.4z and 0.3.5z. Possibly earlier.
Pending more information from Leonard Orb. Since this is an old bug and might
take quite some time to track down I don't consider this a showstopper for
the 0.3.9 release.
9) There were some reports on reduced video quality with the cx25840-based
boards. Is that still the case with the latest svn driver? Please check!
With my card, I see ghosts when I watch the TV. Always 2 or 3 ghosts of
people. I don't know if it's my antenna or the driver.
Summary: 1 & 2 are fixed, 3-6 and 9 should be retested with the latest driver
and 8 is still pending but not a showstopper.
Please get the svn driver and test it, also if you had no problems with your
current driver version: I'd like to get as many people to test this as
possible. Release 1.3.9 should be a pretty stable release and I want to flush
the remaining bug from it as soon as possible. I really want to branch this
off and start with the 0.4 series.
Thanks,
Hans
