You mean, the GUI apps, i presume...

I tried the " aplay -f dat < /dev/video24 " command  - i get no sound.

But i do get sound with " ivtv-radio -f 93.5 " - the only way thus far.

Which led me to believ that some other, "hidden" switch is thrown by 
ivtv-radio, but, poking documentation and man pages i couldn't determine this.
