Finally, I got linux set up on another disk in my windows box....
My results have not changed any, however....
tuner 1 has overall poorer signal quality than tuner 2.
I am running debian stable, package kernel 2.6.8, and the
ivtv-0.4.3 compiled modules.
So to recap, same card in the same computer, using ivtv direct
under linux (ivtv-tune, cat /dev/video0 > out.mpg), and using
the hauppauge drivers (version 2.0.35.23301) under winXP (using
gbpvr to do the tuning, set one tuner to record a program, then
visually flipped through channels on other tuner), quality fine
on both live and recorded programs.
If there's any other info I can provide from either linux or
win, let me know what I can do. I'm pretty familiar with the
linux side, windows stuff may need pointers to specific programs
to use for data gathering.
The output from my initial testing under linux is at
http://www.digitalcoven.com/ivtv/
The script I used to test, as well as the output from it, and the
dmesg are there.
I didn't know how to script a similar test under windows, so you just
have to trust my visual judgement that they were OK, or I'll have to
do it manually this weekend.
Again, let me know if I can do anything to help.
