I noticed that a new kernel source RPM was available yesterday and
downloaded it. With the new kernel RPM, if you have both the source and
the binary kernel RPM installed and have booted with them, the ivtv
drivers will build and install. My hardware is AMD64 BTW.

Unfortunately the card still won't work. Through either contrib or PLF,
I forget which, there are RPMs available for both the ivtv firmware and
an "ivtv-stable" package. After installing these, the card still
doesn't work.

There was one point where I did cat /dev/video0 > my.mpg and the file
came out as larger than 1k and xine seemed to like it even if it was
blank.

I must be on the right track but man what a track. :-/
