-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Christopher,
Please lookup my previous post to the ivtv-users and / or ivtv-devel lists regarding ivtv and Mandriva. In short: - - the ivtv kernel modules in the Mandriva kernel are old and don't work. - - I won't support them - - Mandriva won't take them out of their kernel and they don't seem to want to upgrade it either (I've opened bugreports about this on their bugzilla). Conclusion: mandriva kernel development process is rather defunct. - - I've made some dkms packages which I'm using with the latest kernel-linus mandriva packages. Please try those. They are in the contrib section of Mandriva cooker. If needed I can (with your help) backport them to 2006 and upload them to 2006 community. regards, Stefan [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] > I've got a Hauppauge 250 card on a Mandriva 2006 system. > > Some googling showed that some people had better success with the > ivtv-0.2.0rc3 for their card, so that's what I installed. > > I downloaded and installed the firmware (renaming the files accordingly) > using the instructions from the wiki. > > Here's what's in /lib/modules: > > 2.6.12-12mdksmp/ > ivtv-fw-dec.bin > ivtv-fw-enc.bin > v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg > HcwMakoA.ROM > > After a reboot, the ivtv module appears to load: > > dmesg|grep ivtv > > > ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== > ivtv: version 0.2.0 (rc3f) loading > ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.12-12mdksmp SMP 686 gcc-4.0 > ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info > ivtv: between the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines when > ivtv: mailing the ivtv-devel mailinglist. > ivtv: ... running on kernel 2.6.12-12mdksmp > ivtv: Setting some variables to invalid for detection > ivtv: Scanning PCI bus.. > ivtv: Found card #0 > ivtv: User specified WinTV PVR 250 card > ivtv: Found an iTVC16 based chip > ivtv: base addr: 0xdc000000 > ivtv: Enabling pci device > ivtv: Bus Mastering Enabled.<6>ivtv: Unreasonably low latency timer, > setting to 64 (was 32) > ivtv: 22 (rev 1) at 00:09.0, ivtv: irq: 18, latency: 64, memory: > 0xdc000000 > ivtv: XXX PCI device: 0x0661 vendor: 0x1039 > ivtv: attempting ioremap at 0xdc000000 len 0x00800000 > ivtv: attempting ioremap at 0xdd000000 len 0x00800000 > ivtv: attempting ioremap at 0xde000000 len 0x00010000 > ivtv: activating i2c... > ivtv: i2c init > ivtv: setting scl and sda to 1 > ivtv: Active card count: 1. > ivtv: i2c client attach > ivtv: i2c attach [client=tveeprom,ok] > ivtv: Loaded module tveeprom > ivtv: call_i2c_client > ivtv: using client 0, addr 0x50 > ivtv: Tuner Type 2, Tuner formats 0x00001000, Radio: yes, Model > 0x00893450, Revision 0xc0178f0b > ivtv: Radio detected > ivtv: i2c client attach > ivtv: i2c attach [client=(tuner unset),ok] > tuner 0-0061: chip found @ 0xc2 (ivtv i2c driver #0) > ivtv: Loaded module tuner > saa7115: starting probe for adapter ivtv i2c driver #0 (0x10005) > ivtv: i2c client attach > ivtv: i2c attach [client=saa7115,ok] > ivtv: Loaded module saa7115 > ivtv: i2c client attach > ivtv: i2c attach [client=MSP3448W-A2,ok] > ivtv: Loaded module msp3400 > ivtv: Stopping VDM > ivtv: Stopping AO > ivtv: pinging (?)
