I understand completely. I'll eventually try the card under Windows,
which is really the only definitive test I can do since my other
machines are running the same kernel and driver. It may be a while
before I get to this, for two reasons: first, this isn't the highest
priority for my MythTV system. The PVR-150 is in a machine that is
located with an auxiliary TV and isn't used that much and not kept up
all the time. There is only an occasional use for this tuner. Second and
more importantly, booting into Windows is a huge headache. The only way
I can get XP to come up without a BSOD is to boot from the FC5 DVD into
rescue mode and delete all the other partitions. Then I have to boot
from the XP CD and go the the repair console and rewrite the master boot
record. Only then can I successfully boot XP (I only had XP on the
system so that I could run PowerStrip). After I'm done with Windows, I
then have to boot to FC5 rescue mode again, recreate the partition
table, run grub to rewrite the master boot record. Then I can reboot
into Linux. Add to that the fact that Windows only runs on my master
backend (which of course is offline during this process) and you can see
why it might be a while before I find a time to do all this. If it
weren't such a pain, I would have performed this test already.
