I'm the current, and happy, owner of a PVR-500MCE, and I have to admit that I'm satisfied by the picture quality. I've heard numerous times before that the PVR-500 is basically just 2 150's on a single card, and while that might be the case, I cannot complain about quality.
Having said that, however, I seem to see a number of issues with people running the PVR-500 with the Samsung chipset. I cannot speak for the quality of that card, as I'm running a PVR-500 with the Conexant (sp?) chipset. As for the 250, or even the 350, I cannot honestly provide any input. Previously I had recommended a friend purchase the 250, as I was having a slew of problems (early on) with my 500, but have since corrected. He has never actually bought either card and cannot offer input. Having said all that (and being long-winded myself) I'd also invite you to investigate getting an HD card. I believe that will be my next purchase, although not having a HD monitor I am planning on using that simply as a way to capture at the highest possible image quality, and then transcode back to DVD quality, to be played on my television. Just my 2 cents... joey ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris MacDonald <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tuesday, June 13, 2006 10:17 am Subject: [ivtv-users] Hauppauge PVR 150/500 vs 250 To: [email protected] > > Hi... > > I've currently got a PVR 150 (Roslyn, cx88-based so it runs the v4l > driver) but I find the picture quality is absolutely horrendous.
