Hans,

This afternoon, I downloaded and compiled the 0.4.6 snapshot you reference 
below.

With my PVR-500, the 0.4.6 version of the "tuner" module looks like someone cut 
the signal strength by 75%.

If I unload the 0.4.6 version of the "tuner" module and modprobe the 0.4.4 
version of the "tuner" module, the picture looks fine.  (I left the other 
modules at the 0.4.6 version.)

What information from my system do you need to help debug this issue?
