I just wanted to add some info to this thread. Regarding the below statement from Hans:
> The patch is only for ivtv-0.4.5 since with kernel 2.6.16 the tuner > module from the kernel is used. So if you want to test the same thing > with the 2.6.16 kernel then you have to patch tuner-types.c in the > kernel. > Look for the tuner and add '+4' to the 0x01, 0x02 and 0x08 values. I tried this on my kernel (2.6.16, ivtv v0.6.3) and it did improve the picture quite a bit, but it's still unwatchable. Before I'd say I had about 90% static on the picture, but perfect sound. Now it's maybe 25% static and still perfect sound. Huge improvement, but still not good enough to watch. I may subject this crummy card to a 'hammer test' in my garage before long, but if any other patches, kernel tweaks, etc. pop up before I loose my patience on it, I'll be happy to test things out under this configuration. Thanks for the excellent driver! I'll pick a better card next time! -mattyj _______________________________________________ ivtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-users
