A problem of the missing sound on certain (but not all) channels has
bugged me since upgrading to 0.4.2 from series 0.3 driver. I have tried
all versions of 0.4 series driver with no luck. Currently I am using
version 0.4.7

The problem ussually shows up as initially missing soung after switching
to a channel, and sound kicks-in only after some time, usually after
random 1-30 minutes.

After many tries and unsuccessfull queries to this list, I have found what
causes a problem. This problem appears on some channels (about 15% of
total number). The ones broadcasting in Nicam Stereo or Nicam Bilingual
are more prone to this problem. However, some channels with audio standard
A2-DK1(DK2, DK3, etc.) have this problem to a bit lesser extennt, too.

After trying different value combinations of register switch "ivtvctl -d
/dev/video1 -g reg=0x808,val=0xXX", where XX - hex digit, as described in
bug

http://ivtvdriver.org/trac/ticket/58

I was able to force sound to appear. However, this is only a temporal
solution - after changing channels and switching back, sound is missing
again.

Seems to me, audio autodetection fails or lags.

Has anyone solved this problem?
