It's hard to say what the problem is. It is not something I've seen 
before. My guess would be that it is either a hardware incompatibility 
(what chipset does your motherboard use? Can you test with a 
PVR-150/250/350 instead of a PVR-500?) or a kernel problem. The latter 
can be tested by upgrading to a 2.6.15 kernel or higher.
