I build a new system very recently with fedora core 6 (kernel 2.6.18xxx) with the newest ivtv packages from atrpms (0.8xx). and
the problem disappeared. It seems like it's running stable (have to test some more). I even put in a second PVR-150 and that
also works. The biggest difference between my previous installation an my new one are the kernel version going from
2.6.17 to 2.6.18 and ivtv from 0.7.1 to 0.8. Hope it helps you in some way.

Kind regards,
Johan.
