Glad you have it all working now. The guts of your remote are essentially the same as a Microsoft MCE remote, there are a million different model types out there that all look similar.
lirc_i2c runs on the models of the Hauppauge cards that have a little jack on them where you plug in the supplied receiver. Newer cards have IR transmitters built into that jack too and they run on the lirc_pvr150 driver. The problem is that if you're new to the game, that doesn't make much sense from the get-go. - Ian On 12/1/06, David Fishburn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

To summarize: I am using the Hauppauge remote that comes with the PVR-500 MCE Edition. This is not the Microsoft MCE remote, but looks very similar. For lirc, I am using the lirc_mceusb2 driver. cd /etc/lirc sudo cp lircd.conf lircd.conf.original -- For lirc_mceusb2 sudo cp /usr/src/lirc-0.8.1pre2/remotes/mceusb/lircd.conf.mceusb /etc/lirc/lircd.conf For my lircrc buttons to control Myth, these will need to be customized somewhat by user preference but I did find a good starting point here: http://www.netreveal.com/ddalton/2006/04/htpc_remote_on_fedora_core_4_o_1.ht ml I copied the lircrc contents of that page to: /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc For my user that the gdm automatically logs in as, I created a symbolic link to that file. This may seem obvious to experienced users, but all the documentation surrounding the Hauppauge remotes indicate you must use lirc_i2c. So it was very difficult to find instructions for anything other.
