I have no tuner on my card, so the line "cat /dev/video0 | gxine stdin:/" is sufficient for me to monitor the video inputs - thank you for that. This does work very well UNTIL (!) I get lots of noise/interference in the video input signal. Then something breaks down, and gxine's "on-screen-display" timer stops and the words "Buffering..." pops up repeatedly (every 2 seconds?) (The video catches up for a second, then pauses again, then catches up again, then pauses again, etc, etc). I guess it's just a limitation of the hardware/driver that has problems with (very) noisy video signals.
