I was getting stuttering after about 4 seconds of playback:

A: 4.4 V: 3.6 A-V: 0.819 ct: -0.004 83/ 83 16% 2% 165.1% 50 0 0%

           ************************************************
**** Your system is too SLOW to play this! ****
           ************************************************

Check out that video-audio sync problem: 4.4 seconds worth of audio,
only 3.6 seconds of video, gives a difference of 0.8 seconds :-(

If I redirected to a file using "cat /dev/video0 > blah.mpg", then
"top" showed that the system is 98% idle (2GHz AMD Athlon). Also,
playback of that file using "mplayer blah.mpg" worked perfectly (and
top shows the system is 75% idle), so I really don't think that my
"system is too SLOW to play this"!

I've since tried mplayer's subversion, and it works much better for
me. (I was using Ubuntu Fiesty's included version). Now I only get the
stuttering problem when the video input signal is very noisy, bur I'm
not too bothered about that for the time being.

Thanks for your help, Jaime :-)
