Hi all,

Just a quick progress report: the ivtv driver is fully included in the
upcoming 2.6.22 driver. All the API changes are in, and at the moment
there is only one patch pending that fixes VBI output (the rarely used
/dev/vbi16 device). I hope that that will go in as well before 2.6.22 is
released.

The ivtv-fb framebuffer driver won't be part of the 2.6.22 kernel as I had
no time whatsoever to work on that. However, I will make an ivtv driver
release available once 2.6.22 is released that contains only the ivtv-fb
driver together with some userspace utilities: basically the current
0.10.3 without the ivtv driver itself.

As you know I'm now working in Norway on a big project. Originally I was
supposed to work on this for 6 months maximum, but the latest news is that
I'll stay on at least until the end of the year. While I do have a
computer on loan in my Norwegian apartment it isn't suitable for ivtv
development, so I was forced to do any ivtv work when I was back home
(which is every other weekend).

As I will be staying in Norway for a longer time I've decided that that
isn't good enough so I've bought a new computer. I should have it up and
running in two weeks time. My boss also kindly loaned me some equipment
such as a big monitor and a speaker set, and Hauppauge very kindly donated
a PVR-350 (very important for testing). So in two weeks I should be up and
running and I will be a lot more responsive to questions and problems.

If you posted questions/problem reports and never got an answer, then I
recommend that you try again in 3-4 weeks time. Chances are that I should
be able to help out by then.

Regards,

        Hans
