Hi,

I'm still not making any progress with this problem. I've experimented
with several module options (i.e. newi2c) and with parameters that I can
set using v4lctrl (i.e. set_ctrl=audio_*). Either I get freezing in the
video stream or no effect change. I even added additional hardware to
the box (1GB memory & a harddisk) in an attempt to alleviate the
problem. I noticed that there was very little free memory on the BE and
thought the symptoms might be related to memory exhaustion.

I was mistaken in the version of Ubuntu that is running on the BE. It's
Feisty (7.04), not Edgy (6.10) as I said in my first post.

Are there any other suggestions that anyone can offer short of
reinstalling/changing the OS?

Thank you.

Robert.
