If, after that, something doesn't work right, good luck figuring out what caused the problem.
My suggestion is to go to ivtvdriver.org and follow the instructions to install from source. Then, if you want to upgrade the driver in the future, all you have to do is repeat the process. That could well happen because Hans & Co. appear to be on the verge of fixing some long-standing bugs that you may run into. Just my 2 cents.
