I'm a little stuck. While I "know" linux, assume I don't know bupkis
about kernel modules and the like since that's where my knowledge is
thin.

I'm using an off-the-shelf install of FC6, with all updates applied,
kernel version 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6 from Fedora repo. I'm following the
MythTV howto: http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php.

This is as far as I've got, installing from atrpms:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ yum -y install ivtv-kmdl-2.6.20-1.2962.fc6

Note the last line. Searching the mail archives, someone had a
similar problem about a year ago and Axel from ATRpms indicated:

Yes, that's how it should be. The issue is that the userland does not
build due to the wrong videodev2.h header file, so only the kmdls got
to the repo.

I fixed this locally and new packages will appear shortly.

But that was for a different kernel version. I'm worried since it
appears development has moved on to FC7 and newer kernels than what
I'm using.

Is there any hope I can get ivtv installed on this box?
