I've made some major changes lately and I'd like you to test that first. 
Can you get my v4l-dvb tree: 
http://www.linuxtv.org/hg/~hverkuil/v4l-dvb and try with that first?

If that doesn't solve the problem, then try replacing the v4l-cx25840.fw 
firmware file with this firmware version: 
http://dl.ivtvdriver.org/ivtv/firmware/HcwMakoB.ROM.

Also, does this corruption only occur when you enable VBI or also with a 
straight capture? Is the video scaled or is it captured at full 
resolution? (720x480 for NTSC).
