The register dump on the working configutaration failed. I don't have an
S-Video cable handy, so I cannot easily test S-Video.  If I don't get a
register
dump on the working configuration, I can get a cable tomorrow.

Working configuration, linux 2.6.17.14, ivtv 0.7.4:

  # zcat /proc/config.gz |grep CONFIG_VIDEO_ADV_DEBUG
CONFIG_VIDEO_ADV_DEBUG=y
  # v4l2-dbg -d /dev/video0 -R type=i2cdrv,chip=cx25840
ioctl: VIDIOC_DBG_G_REGISTER

           00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F
ioctl: VIDIOC_DBG_G_REGISTER failed for 0x0
ioctl: VIDIOC_DBG_G_REGISTER failed for 0x1
ioctl: VIDIOC_DBG_G_REGISTER failed for 0x2
...

Any idea what went wrong?

Failing configuration, linux 2.6.23-rc3

ioctl: VIDIOC_DBG_G_REGISTER
